Saint Andrew's Cathedral At Noon Recital - June 2026
We love performing at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Aberdeen.  The very design of this beautiful space is a choir’s dream - vaulted ceilings and pointed arches helps music effortlessly lift and reverberate, enhancing overall depth and richness.  Hearing the acoustic effect as we sing never gets old.

Our programme was a full one and included Caledonia as well as What I did for Love – a song from the musical A Chorus Line that we plan to perform at the annual LABBS* convention in October.  We enjoyed every minute of it.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support us.  Thank you also to the St Andrew’s Cathedral team for hosting us.

To view upcoming recitals from the At Noon Series, please visit musicaberdeen.com/festivals-series/cathedral-at-noon.  All these events are free and are a great opportunity to hear local talent and visiting musicians in this beautiful setting.

    2026 Aberdeen Kilt Walk
Albacappella was so proud to support Children's Hospice Across Scotland (CHAS) at this year’s Aberdeen Kiltwalk event. The turnout was incredible - over 5,000 Kiltwalkers raising well over £1 million for 500 Scottish charities. Stationed with CHAS, at Pit Stop 2 in the Drumoak Playing Fields, we did our best to entertain those taking time to rest and refuel with firm favourites like 500 Miles and You Can't Stop the Beat.  We even had some of our Kiltwalking members take a beat and sing with us for a short while.  We had a fantastic time and loved being able to support such a worthwhile cause.

For more information about CHAS and the amazing work they do, check out their website - www.chas.org.uk. For more information about the Kiltwalk event and some of the other fantastic charities that were supported - www.thekiltwalk.co.uk.

    Spring Choir Festival
What better way to celebrate Spring with our local community, friends and family than a Choir Festival! Hosting it at our rehearsal home, Westhill Community Church, we were joined by the wonderfully talented Aurora Acappella, Granite City Chorus and The Banchory Singers.  It proved to be an evening of beautiful musical harmonies, laughter and camaraderie. Songs ranged from Scottish favourites like Caledonia to Elvis Presley’s Are You Lonesome Tonight?  There were even audience singalongs thanks to the encouragement of our fabulous Musical Director Sarah Estill.  Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us – we are so grateful and truly hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!  Until next time…….

Aberdeen Remembers - VE Day Celebration
We were honoured to be part of Aberdeen Remembers, a stunning celebration of the past 80 years of Aberdeen. Featuring an array of stunning pipers and Fiona Kennedy, the event was emotional and thought-provoking. We sang Scottish classics including Caledonia, Loch Lomond and 500 miles to showcase music through the years, performing to a sell-out crowd at the Aberdeen Music Hall. This is a sing-out that will stay in our memories for a long time.

At our recent Open Evening, it was really great to see so many new ladies and we hope they will all keep coming back to sing with Albacappella. We had a fun warm up, which involved some quite scary jungle noises, and a mind-boggling coordination exercise! Our newbies started to learn the fabulous Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves, and we will enjoy securing that together over the coming weeks.
